Welcome

Welcome! In this blog I intend to share favorite poems, thoughts, and meditations on religion, literature, and the relationship between them.

To begin, a well-known little poem by Rumi (with the note that, for some of us, the "beauty of what we love" is exactly going to take that book off the shelf)!

Today, like every other day
I wake up empty and frightened.
Don't go to the door of the study
And begin to read a book.
Instead, take down the dulcimer.
Let the beauty of what you love
Be what you do.
There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

- Rumi
